Downtown Springdale Hosts the Arkansas State Criterium Championships on July 30

Springdale, AR – Downtown Springdale will host the Arkansas State Criterium Championships on Sunday, July 30 from 8AM-3PM. The Arkansas State Criterium Championships are part of the Arkansas Bicycle Coalition championships for road and cyclocross disciplines.

The event is presented by Tyson Foods and Buffalo Builders, hosted by the Downtown Springdale Alliance and the City of Springdale and promoted by All Sports Productions in collaboration with the Arkansas Bicycle Coalition (ABC). The ABC is part of the larger association of USA Cycling (USAC) and serves as the local association for cycling events in Arkansas.

The Criterium road championships will recognize state champions in both Category (1- 4), as well as Age (Juniors 11-18 and Masters 35+) for men and women.  The winner receives a state championship jersey. Only Arkansas residents with annual USAC licenses are eligible for state awards, but anyone can compete for overall prizes.

“We are beyond thrilled to host the Arkansas State Criterium Championships,” says Jill Dabbs, Executive Director, Downtown Springdale Alliance. “We see it as a natural extension of hosting the Natural State Criterium Series for the last three years. The Natural State Criterium Series has grown to be the largest mid-week crit in the country and is attracting lots of riders, as far away as Australia! The riders are excited to be here as is the community! Come experience the fun spectators and their families are having all over downtown Springdale on an energy charged race day.”

The spectator-friendly race starts and ends on Emma Avenue in front of Shiloh Square at 106 W Emma Ave. Spectators can enjoy the race from the Outdoor Dining District. Many of the downtown businesses will be open during race time and offering race day specials. Buddy Pegs will be hosting a Kids Zone for young cyclists so families are encouraged to bring their children’s bikes.

The Arkansas State Criterium Championships takes place on Sunday, July 30 from 8AM-3PM. Registration is at https://www.bikereg.com/ark-state-crit.
