The Springdale City Council Adopts the Downtown Springdale Master Plan Update

Springdale, AR – The Springdale City Council adopted the Downtown Springdale Master Plan Update on December 13, 2022. The updated master plan for downtown Springdale will guide its development for the next 5-7 years. It serves as the basis for economic development, quality residential growth and general improvements to ensure a vibrant community for businesses and residents.

The key focus will include downtown housing, parking, public and private art, street and infrastructure improvements, and the integration of the Luther George Park Expansion and Renovation and Jones Center Campus Renovation projects into the urban fabric of Downtown Springdale. Key improvements under way include:

-       Commencement of construction on Luther George Park effective December 19, 2022

-       Near completion of the City of Springdale municipal campus

-       Construction of the Greenway realignment on Emma Avenue

“Springdale residents and business owners really showed up with excitement and gave the input needed to develop a great plan,” says Jill Dabbs, Executive Director, Downtown Springdale. “This type of community input and feedback is not always easy to gather and comes from many years of building and developing community trust. The plan reflects this diverse community and is a window looking into our future.”

The Downtown Springdale Master Plan Update is a joint effort of the City of Springdale and Downtown Springdale Alliance supported by the Walton Family Foundation and the Tyson Family Foundation.

The City of Springdale and the Downtown Springdale Alliance have been working with H3 Studio—the professional planning consultant who worked to develop the 2015 Downtown Master Plan.
