The Famous Hardware Building in Downtown Springdale Features New Artists in its First Art Installation of 2022.

Springdale, AR – The windows at the Famous Hardware building in Downtown Springdale are once again activated with an art installation. This time the windows have been brought to life by INTERFORM with funding from the Tyson Family Foundation.

The art installations, which began at the beginning of 2021 and featured a variety of artists from across the county, will feature new artists throughout 2022. The installations are intended to make art accessible to the Springdale community and create new experiences for people visiting the downtown. Each installation will be visible from the sidewalk in front of the Famous Hardware building and will be explained in English, Spanish and Marshallese.

The first installation of the year is curated by Zack Ridenoure, Programming Manager at INTERFORM and displays the fashions of clothing designers whose looks were featured at INTERFORM’s 2022 Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week. The installation, titled “After the Runway,” pulls looks from local and international designers and features them against a backdrop of colorful and vibrant floral. “The goal of each window is to give a space for each designer to showcase their talent and innovation to members of the community that were unable to attend NWA Fashion Week,” says Zack Ridenoure, Programming Manager at INTERFORM.

The clothing designers featured in this installation are:

·      Bryce Arroyos, a local fashion designer who turns overlooked donated clothing into wearable pieces of art.

·      Jarressa Johnson of Asserraj Haus of Fashion, a native of the Grand Bahama whose interest in fashion began at age 18 when she taught herself to make clothing that was tailored to her body type.

·      Interform Sewn Trades featuring the SUN-SHINE Collection and designers Tie Mathew, Gina Janer, Fei Debrum, & Valentina Lokebol; HARMONIOUS Collection and designer Terry Takamura; AFRICAN VIBE Collection and designers: Furah Mbuto and Sarah Kavira Sikitiza.

·      Karla Guzman of Hermosa Oaxaca, a native of Tampico, Tamaulipas who discovered her passion for fashion at an early age. Throughout her travels she seeks out opportunities to share the beauty and traditions from her beautiful country of Mexico

The Famous Hardware Building is located at 113 West Emma Avenue. The art installation will be in place through mid-May.
