Downtown Springdale Alliance Names 

Paxton Roberts as Executive Director 

(Springdale, Ark.) Downtown Springdale Alliance has announced the appointment of Paxton Roberts as its new executive director. With extensive nonprofit leadership and expertise in community initiatives, Roberts will guide the organization in fostering a vibrant downtown, supporting local businesses, and enhancing community experiences.  

“I am thrilled to join Downtown Springdale Alliance and serve a region rich in culture and history,” said Paxton Roberts, the executive director. “I look forward to working with local and regional leaders and community members to ensure Downtown Springdale remains a vital hub of connection, opportunity, and growth. 

Springdale Mayor Doug Sprouse expressed his confidence in Roberts’ ability to lead. “Paxton brings an exceptional combination of experience and enthusiasm to this role,” said Sprouse. “The city of Springdale is committed to supporting a downtown that reflects our vision as a community. I look forward to the progress he will bring our way.” 

“Paxton impressed us with his understanding of what makes a downtown thrive and his track record of bringing people together,” said Sandy Nickerson, chair of the DSA board of directors. “We’re confident he will build on our strong foundation and lead Downtown Springdale to new heights.” 

Roberts begins his new role on January 13, with an initial focus on collaboration with the staff and key community stakeholders. He previously served as managing director of Trailblazers and executive director of BikeNWA. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Arkansas where he also pursued his Ph.D. in public policy. Roberts also earned an executive certificate in nonprofit leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School.
